Newsflash: Major Fireworks Recall
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for over 36,000 “Red, White, & Blue Smoke” fireworks manufactured by American Promotional Events and sold under the TNT Fireworks brand. These fireworks can explode unexpectedly after being lit and have already led to three reports of burns to consumers.
The Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks are pyrotechnic devices that make colored smoke when lit. American Promotional Events stated that the units were sold as part of a bag containing three canisters at major retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart and Meijer from May to June 2017 in four states: Illinois, Ohio, Vermont and Wisconsin. Consumers can identify the fireworks by the prominent Red, White, & Blue Smoke branding or by looking for a unique universal product number located under the product’s barcode, 027736036561.
